Resolutions

No review of 2008 for me - while it had its high points, it was generally not one of my favourite years, and I won't be doing it again. Failed miserably at the resolutions I set myself too. But onwards and upwards ....

In 2009 I want to:

  • Get two tattoos. I know what I want, and where on my body I want them, and, most importantly, why. They've both been a long time coming.

  • Run at least 2 (and hopefully 4) cabarets this year with [info]mr_flay and Mr Deville WINOLJ.

  • Continue to work as the Event Manager for Planet Angel, but also take at least 2 parties off so I don't forget quite how much fun they are.

  • MOT better - I'm going to be 40 this year but I'm rubbish at looking after myself. I'm getting better at eating, but I need to schedule doctors and dentist's visits rather than put them of.

  • Finish the decorating in the flat. Front room, halls, garden. Get this to be a place I really like living in.

  • Go climbing outside. There's a debate between teh Llanberis Pass (Welsh, wet, geek points from an Ars Magica game, natives speak English) and Fontainbleau (French, sunny, cheese, I'd need to learn the French for "Holy crap I'm falling!").

  • Finish the NWO books. There's probably only a day's work at most in finishing the Grand Tribunal, and they're hanging over me like a particularly wordy Sword of Damacles.

  • Go to Ireland with my dad. We haven't been on holiday together in 25 years plus, and my memories of Ireland are all of relatives' front rooms. That must change.

Work and Love? The best things happen by accident, not design.

All the very best with what sound like an excellent set of resolutions. If you manage to finish the NWO books, I for one will be in the queue should they become available for sale.

I have probably already waxed lyrical about her, but Leah Moule and Spear Studio; if you haven't yet found your artist. Obviously there is an ulterior motive, because you can co-incide this with a trip to Brum; always a bed for you here!

"Merde sainte, je tombe!"

Pronounce: maird son, je tom(b).

Francais, du soleil, fromage. That's all you need.

French, Sun, Cheese?

I quite like JE TOM (phonetically) as "Some one catch me please!"

Upper left arm, in Ueshiba's handwriting: Ai Ki

Inner left wrist, over the pulse point: גם זה יעבור‎‎, - (gam zeh yaavor - this too shall pass).

Both black ink.

Both sound nice, I'm sure I don't have to tell you to research tattoo artists before taking the plunge. My dad had an idea years ago that he wanted his dan grades to have a small black circle tattoed under where they wear their watches, but never got any further than the idea.

Make that three tattoos .... :-)

I think rather than just a circle, I'd want the circle, triangle, square design - Like this but with the square outside the circle rather than in the centre. Circle at the centre, of course :-)

Hmmm ... I need to think about that, but that feels right.

Cool on the tattoos! I would recommend the brilliant artish wot done mine; Katt Zebedee at Body Art, but Stafford is a fair old way to come and I am sure there are some fab artists in Lud's Dun, good luck and do post piccies when you have them.

surely the natives of Llanberis speak Welsh....

fontainbleu. If only for the freaky 'beach in a forest' thang. And better cheese and wine than Wales.

went there before I'd ever climbed, love to go there again - yell if you're going.

cheers n new years bm.

Welsh, but also English, which is more than I can guarantee of the French. But on the other hand, cheese.

If we do end up planning a trip to Fontainbleu, I'll let you know.

Merde, je tombe!
Or possibly "j'y tombe."

And if you have time: "Mon Dieu, regardez tous ces petits oiseaux!" (My, look at all the pertty birdies!")

Sounds like you've got it planned, my year is looking far to unorganised just yet. I keep on thinking about new tattoos but I need some inspiration; I have a tribal tattoo which needs breaking up and i'd like to have branches from trees radiating from it...but I have no idea where to find decent images!
